WHY BUY ME
Each and every vintage of Vina Ardanza is an incredible example of what a high-quality fine Rioja wine should be - however, the 2010 vintage took it a step further! What is particularly interesting is that the words Selección Especial have been added to its label. This makes it the fourth vintage in the wine’s 78-year history, after the great vintages of 1964, 1973 and 2001, to be given this elevated status. A status well deserved!
WHAT WINE CRITIC SAYS
The wine is expressive, aromatic, very elegant and clean, with classical Rioja aromas of long aging in barrel and slow oxidation through the years in wood. There is great complexity, and you could start smelling spice and smoke to move to earthy tones, hints of beef blood, cherries in liqueur, curry, diesel, old furniture and forest floor. STYLE
There truly is something special about the 2010 vintage. Intense and complex to the nose. Wildberry aromas predominate, blended with hints of coconut, cinnamon, tobacco, and leather. However, it's the silky smooth palate and the freshness that we just adore! A long finish acquired from its time in the bottle, where its elegant bouquet gains in intensity. Truly a fabulous wine! Thumbs up from us.
